U.S. begins exposure data on the various nursing homes Quality of Care
The Bush administration today released data on the quality of care to more than 2500 nursing homes in six countries and promised to publish similar information about them in all other countries this fall, which is part of an ambitious project to help consumers judge the performance of health systems suppliers.
AARP, two trade associations care home industry and the Service Employees International Union, which represents 125000 people work in nursing homes, supports the project.You mentioned the new data would help people choose care centres, motivate and housing to remedy deficiencies that have lasted decades.
Tommy G. Thompson, the secretary of Public Health and Human Services, enthusiastic, has encouraged the initiative, said:”This is a huge step forward, probably the biggest step to improve the quality of care, the Department has already.”
